Teen Anti-smoking Campaign American Cancer Society
Design Problem
The health risks of smoking are well known; despite this the amount of teens that take up smoking is on the rise. Through research it was determined that teens who smoke have a sense of invincibility, they are well aware of the risks but believe that they won’t be affected.
Solution
In an effort to get teens to listen we decided to go after their vanity rather than outline the health risks. We specifically targeted the fact that smoking leaves the smoker smelling disgusting. The completed design is flexible and can be used in variety of ways, such as magazine spreads, posters, billboards, and t-shirts. Accompanying the ads is a micro site that sells shirts with the four designs on them, the net proceeds from the sales of the shirts goes back to the American Cancer Society to aid in their fight against lung cancer.
